Our perennial favourite, darling of the dahlias, princess of the peonies, Holly Hipwell is one busy woman. We love working with her on in store workshops, creating videos, and just for general hilarity and budding inspiration (pun totally intended).
Holly Hipwell is the Chief Flower Enthusiast behind The Flower Drum. No wilting wallflower, she’s bright-eyed, bubbly and always effervescent. We took some time out with Holly to talk Spring and what’s making her heart beat.
Holly Hipwell. Describe your style in 5 words: Colourful / comfortable / crowded / collected and fun
What’s your favourite part of Spring? The newness!! Everything is so fresh!
What do you do differently in your home to welcome Spring? Pack away the little throw rugs! I love having the windows and doors open in spring and summer, I love hearing the sounds from the beach and the little visits from the birds on my balcony.
What’s your home style? Collected finds mixed with comfy luxury!
Where do you seek interiors inspiration? I’m a Block fanatic!! I love The Design Files and don’t mind flicking through the occasional home / lifestyle mag while I’m waiting for my coffee!
How do you relax at home? The sun comes beaming thru from about 2pm onwards and it streams on to my sofa (Cityscape 3 seater!) perfect for a little nap. I am the nap time queen!!
What’s your favourite flower? PEONY power!
Song on repeat at the moment? Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros is getting a work out at the moment.
Favourite Freedom product at the moment? Oh trust me! I always have a list!! At the top of the list is the Millicent table, and I might have to get The Black Dog print to match… (The one in the boat of course) oh and that Hayman lamp… The pipeline floor lamp… And the Jett jugs are fun, and I love switching out my cushions, so those spotty Neisha cushions are awesome. Ok stop me!!
Tip for getting your home Spring –ready? Always always flowers! Right now I’m loving little vases of freesias in every room.
