What I’m Loving: Clare Hillier, blogger, Checks and Spots

Working with Clare from Checks and Spots is always a really fun experience. We bounce ideas, we have fun, it’s good times for everyone. Recently we collaborated to share some fresh new looks from our Freedom A/W15 Collection with Clare’s readers. The results are pretty hot. You can take a look here. Today we’re talking about what’s hot for the chilly months.

Freedom: What are you loving in the new Freedom collection? Clare: Winter doesn’t always have to be about dark, moody colours. I’m loving Freedom’s fresh take on the cooler months with their New Nordic collection. Dusty tones, blonde timber, a touch of marble and statement watercolour prints are perfect for layering and giving your home warmth and personality. And the best bit? This new take on modernism will see you through winter and beyond.

Tell us about the inspiration for your shoot. I was super excited to be doing something a little different for Freedom on Checks and Spots. I shot in a unique warehouse space and shared some simple ways you can update your bedroom, living room and dining table for the season ahead. By playing with colour and shape, I’ll wanted to show that winter can have a strong, raw beauty.

What are your five favourite pieces from the new collection? 1. The Frame chair has seriously impressive lines! The micro chevron fabric and perfect shade of grey had me at hello. 2. All that glitters is gold, especially when it comes to the Gilt Limited Edition Cushion – Multi Spot. 3. Handsome and understated, the Metro Floor Lamp in Black would be perfectly at home in any space. 4. At the moment, I’m mad about marble – especially when it packs a graphic punch like the Cross Deco Statue. 5. The best bit about the cooler months is snuggling up and staying in under a big chunky knit like the Lattice Throw.
